We Believe You Matter.
We've known the darkness of shame, trauma, depression, anxiety and grief. We’ve sought a false sense of comfort in isolation. Life's overwhelming struggles can leave any of us at a loss at any given moment. Our professional credentials don't excuse us from the fulfilling but challenging work of unraveling that which is not true of us so we can have a real opportunity at peace.
We are committed to understanding how you got here. We firmly believe how you got here matters. We believe that what you have to share is painful but also reveals a lot about your strength.
Our mission at Porchlight is to guide folks in recognizing their ability to thrive while helping them discover new ways to achieve inner peace and belonging. We are committed to providing a retreat-like experience as you put in work and untangle from what is not true of you.
Our office is a barn (don’t worry, there’s climate control) and we have over twenty acres to use for art and outdoor activities during therapy. We hope to use animals in our work real soon…actually, we can hardly wait!
We work with all ages but recognize how survival mode has a significant impact on a child’s development. We are committed to reaching children and families who are having a terrible time at home, school or both.
We provide Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) in work with children and families. See link to intro video below
We also bring a sense of adventure. We believe getting home when the porchlight comes on is a good thing. Outdoor play is a good thing.
We are a growing practice with therapists who draw from a number of modalities including CBT, DBT, IFS and EMDR in our work with adults, children and families. We offer in person and telehealth. We offer in home services for our older neighbors in certain area codes. We also offer trauma processing groups and boundary groups for adults.
We want to connect with you. Things are not so far gone. It’s a brave decision to decide you deserve more. We already believe in you. We believe you have made it this far. We believe what you've been through matters.
